Why can't I get electronic credit online for COVID-19 travel disruptions?

The USA has suspended all international travel. I am a hotel worker, so I won't be working until shelter in place order has been lifted.

Don't know daughters school schedule. Impossible to re-book flight in next 5 days before it's departure

According to Volaris FAQs, if your flight canceled due to extraordinary circumstances, you will be given an electronic for the amount of the base fare and the additional services you purchased. You can use it to book a new flight in the next 90 days, to travel within 12 months.
For flights departing before April 30: The flight change fee is eliminated in the My Trips section on volaris.com, and you can book only covering the difference in fare for the new requested date

I wasn't given any option. Just gave me the option to re-book and pay fare difference. Hard to do not knowing when my work will resume, daughters school schedule etc. In the past years I have flown Volaris a lot. I am willing to pay a little more to NEVER fly them again. Onve you buy a ticket they do NOT care about anything, except selling you more things.

How can I get a refund

My husband and I purchase flights to Cabo San Lucas for June 20th 2020 when the pandemic hit we tried on several occasions to get in contact to cancel. Nobody would answer the phone and every time we would get transferred we would get hung up on nobody wanted to answer our questions or even talk to us.

We we're not able to get passports because the government stopped all that our flight came and went and we didn't get a refund despite our numerous attempts trying to cancel we are stuck paying almost $800 we paid for 4 tickets at two separate times no matter how many times we tried to cancel volatus kept sending emails stating that we can change it we can do this and we kept saying no we need to cancel they are not issuing passports our emails were ignored.

And if we were being offered to Tampa flight there's not much of a discount why should we pay more why should we pay for an airline who does not want to work with their customers? it wasn't our choice not to go when the coronavirus hit and we are ordered to stay home and not allowed to leave the country at the time we did the right thing to call we can't help it if we can't leave therefore you should have been a lot more understanding and give us a full refund but changing it is not an easy pass to do especially when we are being charged more for it when it's not our fault yes we had a chance to change it within 24 hours we booked it in November we had no intentions on canceling but we didn't know about the pandemic had we known we would have never booked it to begin with so now I think we should get a refund

According to the Volaris compensation policy, you are entitled to cancel your domestic flight and get a refund by notifying Volaris within 24 hours after the ticket was purchased and provided you have not checked in for the flight, either by electronic means or at the airport. Otherwise, no refund shall apply.
Passengers may request cancellations through the company website or by contacting Volaris Call Centre at 1 85* *******.
You can request a refund as long as the reservation has been made 7 or more days in advance of the departure date of the flight.
For further assistance please contact Volaris Customer Service at (866) 988-3527 so that they could evaluate the situation and provide a solution.

According to Volaris Support, you can make a change in your flight. Please follow the steps below:
  • Go to My Trips;
  • Choose Change Your Flight;
  • Enter your reservation details;
  • Select the flights you want to change;
  • Choose the origin, destination, and desired date;
  • Select your new flights;
  • Add the additional services you require;
  • Complete your payment.

You can also make changes to your flight by calling Volaris Call Center at (855) 865-2747.
You may check fees for flight changes following the link cms.volaris.com/globalassets/pdfs/eng/ancillariesandfees.en.pdf.

According to Volaris FAQs, you have the option of changing the name on your ticket until 4 hours before your flight. To acquire it, you must call the Call Center, pay the corresponding fee, and an agent will make the requested name change.
